B.Flack opened the meeting and advised all present that Hornets had been expelled from the League due to debt problems and bad management. He explained that their behavior wasn’t acceptable to both the League and the Herts FA. Their players have been given two weeks to settle the outstanding fines. To ensure fairness the Committee has decided that none of Hornets players can sign for another Club in the League this season.
It is not acceptable for any player or spectator to enter the field of play to attack the Referee verbally or otherwise. If Clubs are not happy with the decisions being made they should mark the Referee with points below 4. The referee’s secretary will then pursue the matter on the Clubs behalf.
Registrations – There has been 321 players signed on so far. Any changes must be received 1 March 2007 and Clubs are reminded that fees must now be paid at the time of application. All the fees issued how now been paid.
Clubs were reminded to notify Clive Brooks of their result and goal scorers each week to ensure they got a mention in the Hertfordshire Mercury.
45 letters have been sent to local pubs/clubs to try and draw some new teams in for next season. The Committee is aware that AFC Cheshunt have applied elsewhere and asked whether anyone else was planning on leaving. Nobody came forward.
Referees Secretary – Ron Bunce confirmed that he does act on complaints received by Clubs in respect of Referees. To date he has sent out 3 warning letters.
Fixtures Secretary - As AFC Cheshunt are slightly behind with their fixtures they agreed they could play midweek games if need be.
