Jubilee cup final
buntingford cougars 3 v 0 sun & harrow Res
maxcamp 3
sun & harrow went into this final firm favourites but no one told this young cougars side that and it showed as this team was well prepared under manager barry tokley, came out with there tails up and after 25 minutes max camp put them self's into the lead with a superb strike and this seems to of give them belief as they came out the second half on fire and this sun & harrow team could not get near them then up stepped max camp to make it 2-0 and all of a sudden you could see this seemed to drain the harrow team who had no answer to what was happening in front of there eyes then with 10 minutes left cougars broke away only for there lad to be brought down in the box for a penaltie to cougars so up stepped camp again to blast the ball home to secure his hat trick and seal a great victory for this young club. sun & harrow after being beet the week before in the league cup final by hornsmill utd did not want to lose another cup final but this game was all over by half time with this goffs oak side on fire with the impressive marc songtag up front along side jamie vine . between them a mix up in the box after 10 minutes saw jamie vine tap home then viney slotted the ball through to songtag and with the outside of his foot curled it around the keeper into the back of the net to make it 2-0 then viney again beat one of the best defenders in the league matt stagg to the by line to cut it back for songtag to blast into the net to make it 3-0 then viney made it 4-0 and this was one of the best 1st half performances i've seen from any club. the second half saw the same from goffs oak with songtag notching his hat trick to make it 5-0 a goal from hatherley from 25 yards out nested into the bottom corner of the net to make it 5-1 but back came goffs in the shape of vanderpeer with a header and put the nail in the coffin.
Division Two Cup Final
New Riverside 7 Waggon & Horses 3 after extra time 3 - 3 after 90 mins
A close run match at Hertford Town saw New Riverside play Wagon&Horses . Riverside started off edgy , but after 25 mins , Marc Smith broke the Wagons high line off-side trap to put the cup favourites 1-0 up . A long clump forward by the Wagon , saw NRFC keeper Bridge in no mans land , seeing the ball headered to the edge of the area , and Paul Clay volleying in the equaliser . Soon after , Marc Smith repeated his escape of the Wagons high line and was eventually brought down inside the 18 yard box after a strong solo run . Marc coolly stepped up and converted the spot kick , giving Riverside a 2-1 lead .
Wagon were soon back on level terms , when another long hopeful ball was played forward , and Riversides defence failed to deal with it , with Nick Davey bringing down his man , giving the ref no choice but to point to the spot for the 2nd time in only the first half of the match . The Wagon's forward Adam Mayson held his nerve and slotted the ball in the corner , wrong footing the NRFC goalkeeper .
Seconds after the restart , NRFC broke the offside trap yet again with Nico Nigrelli leading the 5 man charge , eventually squaring the ball , allowing Marc Smith to convert from 4 yards out for his hat trick .
Yet again NRFC failed to hold onto their lead , allowing Wagon to capitalise on more defensive error's by the Riverside back four and in stepped the impressive Paul Clay to notch his second of the game.
Extra time was called for , and it only took 1 minute for Joe Vial , to coolly place his shot into the opposite side of the goalies net .
Joe added to his goals by strumming in another goal from outside the box moments later .
Then the controversy sparked , when the Wagon's keeper brought down Stef Gauntlett in a 1 on 1 moment , resulting with a straight red card , that was the last thing waggon needed as nrfc brought some fresh legs on. then NRFC found themselves in the Wagon's area , with Marc Smith claiming his fourth goal and in style , by swerving it into the goalie's top right hand side corner .
Joe then sealed the victory by completing his hat trick by rounding the keeper and slotting the ball into an empty net , making it NRFC 7-3 Wagon&Horses .
Division One Cup Final
Hornsmill United 1 Sun & Harrow 1 after extra time Hornsmill United won 5 - 4 on pens
this was the clash of the titans with both sides who love to play football the first 45 minutes the sun & harrow had command of the game and on the half hour a move down the right saw scot brunton pick the ball up and whipped a superb cross beyond the back post for dan robertson to volley the ball back across the keeper into the top right hand corner of the net to make it 1-0 at half time then hornsmill who never seemed to give up took the game to sun & harrow and all the hard work payed off as on the 70th minute a free kick from 35 yards out was struck with pace and nested into the left hand corner of the net with the keeper stranded to make it 1-1 and the game on the next 20 minutes saw jamie marshall shot over the bar for the harrow and ian chalkley hitting the post for hornsmill and jamie higgs beating the defender only for grant thrussel to stop with his legs then it went into extra time and both sides still pushed each other to the limit but could not break each other down, what sent this game to pens with hornsmill scoring all 5 and the sun& harrow scouring their first 4 so it was left to dave speller to bring the game all level again but the hornsmill keeper made a save with his legs to give hornsmill another trophy and manager clive brooks a good send off. hornsmill have been going for 10 years clive took over 3 seasons ago with the club having no trophy's and since being at the club has won division 1 once 2 league cup r/u and 1 winners. , lcc cup winners once and 1 r/u and 2 county cup semi finals.

riverside boys started this local derby off at a furious pace and it was one of the best games of the season to watch as both teams gave there all. it was end to end football and what made this game was the respect they had for each other and the support they had there must of been over 100 supporters watching this semi-final god only no's if this had of been a final how many people would of been there. after 20 minutes jack vial intercepted a terry gritton back pass and volleyed home to make it 1 nil this gave riverside the momentum and leon gauntlett squandered a chance with a lob over the keeper to make it 2 nil and they also hit the post and you wondered weather these missed chances were going to come back and haunt them. at half time reece and bob got there troops together and this seemed to be just what they needed they came out the second half all guns blazing there midfield seemed to have got a hold of the game and a ball down the right to jamie vine who cut in and beat 2 defenders and with a low shot beat the keeper at the near post. but still these young lads from riverside never gave up the battle. then in the 65th minute up stepped marc sontag with his pace and class as he beat the defence and coolie lobbed the keeper to make it 2-1 that seamed to take the stuffing out of the new riverside lads who was a match for any one in the first half goffs oak looked the stronger as the game went on but what you have to relies this goffs oak team have got a few years experience and players who play for waltham abbey/ hertford town / cheshunt and even they new that they was in a game with 15 minutes up stepped sontag again with a sublime bit of skill to beat the defence with the keeper having no chance that made it 3-1 then in the closing stages sontag got his hat trick from a cross that the riverside defence seemed to hesitate and sontag needed no favours as he coolie put the ball away to make it 4-1 and to secure goffs oak place in the final on the 18th may at 2.30 against the sun and harrow and if this is a good as this semi final it will be as good to watch. i would just like to say new riverside & goffs oak are a credit to this league and the referee and linesman mr ron bunce mr shaun hill and mr mark brown were superb.

The wheels come off the wagon Again
After 7 - 2 drubbing two weeks ago, NRFC came into the game thinking it would be another easy ride against Wagon & Horses and they were in for a big shock.
On a snow covered Grundy pitch Wagon asserted themselves early and played their way around NRFC and got their reward as low driven cross was not dealt with, the ball ran into the path of the striker which put The Wagon ahead.
Riverside kept trying and finally got a bit of hope when Simon Bellanca's weaving run saw him fouled and Riverside given a penalty. Nigrelli lost his cool and blazed it over. A scrappy game continued and Riverside were trying to create chances with Pat Selby rounding the keeper but his shot was cleared off the line.
The second half started much the same with sloppy play from Riverside and Wagon counter attacks and with most of Riversides players up the field, Wagon scored a second with a cheeky lob. All looked lost for Riverside and Gaffer Trigg needed to make changes so brought off Ray Tomkins for Joe Vial and Ross Murphy for Jack Vial putting the formation to a 3-4-3. Riverside piled on the pressure and Joe Vial played a 1-2 with Bellanca and then finished in the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Joe Vial then caused havoc a few more times missing another chance and putting Bellanca through who missed 2 identical chances across goal.
Then with some great one touch play from both Vials and Marc Smith saw Smith slide the ball in the corner for 2-2. Gaffer Trigg then brought on Leon Gauntlett and played almost 2-4-4 and with more pressure Joe Vial got on the end of Smith's through ball, rounded the keeper then curled the ball into the top corner over the defender on the line.
The Wagon looked distraught and Jack Vial put the game out of their reach in the last minute with a low strummer into the bottom corner giving Riverside a hard fought 4-2 victory against an Unlucky Wagon & Horses.

Snowy Grundy Park brought together a cup quarter final clash between title chasing New Riverside and Waggon & Horses. Both teams got off to a good start and in the 10th minute New Riverside sprung Waggons high line offside trap and finished well when Jack Vial found himself one on one with the keeper and tucked it away through his legs. Soon after a bad mistake by the Waggons keeper gave the ball straight to Marc Smith and from a full 40 yards lobbed the keeper and made it 2-0. Riverside broke again and Jack Vial on the edge of the box turned inside a player and curled the ball into the far corner to put Riverside 3-0 up. Marc grabbed his second of the game for Riverside to go in 4-0 at half time. Second half started with W&H going all out attack and quickly scored a goal through Mark Jolley. Riverside sprung the offside trap again with three players breaking forward and with Joe Vial squaring the ball to Ardel Amani to score his first goal in Riverside colours. W&H broke through the Riverside defence and Lee Mannering scored to make it 5-2. The offside trap sprung again for Riverside with Marc Smith rounding the keeper to score his hat trick. Near the end of the game W&H keeper dropped the ball at Adam Triggs feet and he rolled the ball into Marc Smiths path for his fourth of the game. Riverside now into their second semi final and wait for the winners of the other quarter final clash between Goffs Oak and Bury Rangers.

16TH MARCH
Div 1
Sun & Harrow 4 Hornsmill United 1
Congratulations to Sun & Harrow on becoming Division One Champions (hornets fc)
Sun & Harrow (Hornets) seal the title against hornsmill utd with a 4-1 win having not won a title since 2000-2001 season they deserved this. the game was played in bad conditions but both sides tried to play some good football and succeeded hornsmill went closes in the first half hour with two good chances but squirmed them 15 minutes from half time a cross from ryan pascal green was wiped in and jamie marshall unmarked on the back post opened the scoring. then hornsmill who had to come out and attack as a draw was no good to them and they played the price as you cannot give a good players room and that's just what tyler hertherly needed and he stepped in to make it 2-0 60 minutes into the game. with sam palmer up front for the sun & harrow who did not stop running all game missed a couple off good chances but another break away saw lewis rose notch the 3rd and virtually seal the game but hornsmill still keep pressing and danny atkins free kick from 35 yards out was slotted home in the bottom right hand corner of the net to make it 3-1 hornsmill had a couple more chances but it was not going to be there day. and with 6 minutes to go tyler hertherly got his 2nd and harrows 4th goal and sealed the result and the league division 1 title well done lads.
Div 2 Cup Quarter Final
Dane End United 6 The Salisbury 5
If ever the cliche "a game of two half's" applied to a game of football, this Divisional Shield Quarter Final was it. After only half an hour, The Salisbury found themselves 5-1 up by making good use of the conditions and the the advantage of playing downhill with 4 goals from daniel jones and 1 from richard groom gave them a great start to the game and would not of excepted what was going to acure later on in the game. Dane Ends solitary strike coming courtesy of Jody Sibthorpe. Surely there was no way back for Dane End. A crucial goal just before half time from Asa Common gave Dane End a glimmer of hope going in to the break 5-2 down. The second half saw Dane End come out with all guns blazing and now with the advantage of playing downhill. After 10 minutes or so a Paul Nodwell cross cum shot looped over The Salisbury Keeper in to the net. This was soon followed by a Tommy Davey strike from the edge of the box and a Paul Nodwell thunderbolt from 25 yards which completed an amazing comeback to make the score 5-5. With the momentum well and truly behind them, Dane End went in search of the winner. It duly came when in the closing minutes a Jody Sibthorpe cross eluded The Salisbury keeper and was chested in to his own net by an unfortunate defender, thus completing a truly remarkable fight back by Dane End United to win the game 6-5.
Dane End United 0-3 New Riverside
NRFC Go Top after Revenge on Dane End
New Riverside went to Dane End in the hope of a much better performance than the previous time these met which ended in a 4-2 win to Dane End United.
The game started and New Riverside were a bit shaky at the back with the wind and the notorious Dane End hill against them. But Dane End never really threatened the Riverside goal.
A great flick on from Marc Smith and a chase from Joe Vial saw him loop the ball over the keeper and Leon Gauntlett climbed highest to head goal-wards only for a “Mysterious Glove Bandit” to handle the ball off the line and give Riverside a penalty. The referee made no sending off as the “Bandit” had hidden his gloves to fool the ref. The resulting penalty was converted by Nico Nigrelli.
After some great play from Pat Selby, Nigrelli put Joe Vial through but he was judged offside. Then a long cross-field pass from Ardel Amani saw Simon Bellanca control the ball and put Joseph Selby through, all without the ball touching the floor. Selby jnr went round the defender and squeezed his shot under the keeper scoring hiss first goal for Riverside after joining in January.
In the second half more pressure from New Riverside saw Pat Selby blast a low shot across goal which was turned in by the Dane End Centre Back.
Stef Gauntlett and Jack Vial came on and they both had a solid game with Stef Gauntlett threatened the Dane End goal with a few chances. Riverside took there foot off the gas and cruised to the final whistle.

Salisbury vs the waggon and horses
the waggon started sharp playing some neat football and easing into an early 2-0 lead with goals from chris "the crane" jolly and lee "rodders" mayson. much more of the same in the second half the waggon stretching their lead to 3-0 with a second from jolly. with 15 minutes to go the salisbury scored from a smart taken free kick on the edge of the 18 yard box. their second and third goals came from sloppy defending. 3-3 at full time a hard fought and entertaining game.
Van Hages 3 v 2 White Lion
Tom Atkinson Andy Thrussel
Andy Metcalf Adrian Bird
Philip Blackwell
Corinthians League title contenders, White Lion, were convincingly tamed by a brilliant Van Hage performance at Wormley Playing Fields, on Sunday.
Picking up only their second victory of the season, Van Hage came from behind to collect all three points from an entertaining game.
After a bright start by the home side, White Lion took the lead on twenty minutes against the run of play. A clumsy tackle inside the area from northern midfielder, Tim Tissington, led to a well-converted penalty from the pre-match favourites.
However, the Lion's roar was muted just minutes later, as in-form Van Hage winger, Andy Metcalfe, headed home a Stuart Indge corner to bring the scores level.
Van Hage went ahead early in the second half as the aggrieved Huckle struck a majestic volley across the helpless White Lion keeper from the corner of the 18-yard box.
Captain Phil Blackwell then extended the lead just after the hour mark, slotting the ball into the net after breaking from the half-way line.
Reluctant to make things easy for themselves, Van Hage conceded a second soft goal ten minutes later, providing an anxious climax to a well-contested match.
After what seemed like an eternity of injury time, the final whistle was finally blown and under-estimated Van Hage celebrated an impressive result against the same team that had beated them 6-1 just three months ago
New Riverside 11 – 0 Green Man
This week saw New Riverside take on Green Man, I don’t think anyone expected the out come.
New Riverside started off brightly and had all of the play with Nico Nigrelli hitting the bar and the post in the early stages of the game. A few other chances went close threatening the opening goal.
A free Kick on the edge of the box saw a cross get headed out to the edge of the box and Jack Vial coolly slotted into the bottom corner.
A few minutes later saw some great play from the right wing with Simon Bellanca cutting into the box, he picked out Nico Nigrelli who passed the ball into the net.
Marc Smith went close a number of times, bringing the keeper into making a Superman save to the top left corner.
A Great ball from the right to the left of the pitch from Paul Molloy left Ross Murphy free in an advanced position on the edge of the box a, his chip deceived the keeper and scored his 1st goal for Riverside.
Nico Nigrelli grabbed his 2nd before half time heading in a cross from Pat Selby.
Riverside started the 2nd half as they had ended the 1st with Jack Vial adding yet another from a cross for Ardel Armani.
Mark Smith finally got his 1st goal after pouncing on a rebound from a save. Adam Trigg come of the bench to make an immediate impact and latched onto Joe Vials cross. Adam is now known as the 'Best Sub since Solksjaer' as he scores almost every time he comes on.
Pat Selby started his goal scoring with a Header and quickly got his second, starting off a race to see who could score a Hat-trick 1st.
Mark Smith coolly slotted his second and joined the race.
The Ultimate winner was Selby as he was in the right place to tap in Ricky Pages shot which came back off the post.
A 30 yard free kick from Page saw a great save from the keeper again.
Green Man squandered an opportunity to get a conciliation goal late on hitting the ball straight at the keeper to gather it comfortably

both sun & harrow and hornsmill utd fly the flag high for the league these two teams have over the past 7 seasons have been a credit as they have always done very well in this cup what is the biggest cup compertion in hertfordshire with over 100 sides starting out this league is now becoming very strong we have a great chance of both sides going all the way to the final .with harts winning it two seasons ago and hornsmill utd being beaten in the semi final last year by the team who went on to win it and sun & harrow who at the time was the old hornets side being beaten the season before that also being beaten in the semi final.
report hornsmill utd v a.f.c. cheshunt
this was always going to be a clash of two good sides a.f.c cheshunt was in this league last year but have now joined the the mercury waltham sunday football league they 2 sides were in both cup final compertions last year against each other sharing 1 apiece and a.if.ccheshunt coming runners up to hornsmill utd in the league. so this was the game both sides were looking forward to and hornsmill started off firing on all cylinders with some great football after hitting the post twice in the first 20 minutes it seemed as it was not going to be there day but with half hour gone a corner was swung in and jamie higgs smashed the ball into the net to make it 1 nil then with 40 minutes on the clock glen turville made it 2 nil with a flick on what went over the on rushing keeper into the net this lad was a menace to a.f.c cheshunt all game they could not handle him with his pace and skill he ran riot . after the break hornsmill did not let up they kept the pace up and with 60 minutes on the clock up stepped turville again with a shot from 25 yards what went in the top right hand corner of the net to make it 3 nil then on 75 minutes james judkins from 35 yards out hit a fierce shot what took a slight deflection to loop over the keeper to make it 4 nil and there was no chance of a come back then and to make things worse harry atkins made it 5 nil . hornsmill utd was still not happy with that they pushed on only to hit the post twice more and a great shot from chalkley what was tipped over the bar from brad lacey who did not deserve 5 goals put by him the away side got a goal back but it was far to late this was 1 one of the best performances from a hornsmill side i have watched the 11 players worked there socks of with no subs at all they was superb.
van hages 6 v 1 hornsmill old boys
philip blackwell 2 darren paget
stuart indge 2
mitchell brassett
thomas atkinson (pen)
A superb performance by confident Van Hage F.C. saw Hornsmill Old Boy's crushed in a demoralising 6-1 defeat at Wormley Playing Fields, on Sunday.
At almost full-strength, Van Hage produced a pioneering display of unstoppable fast flowing football for the first time this season with devastating effects.
Captain Phil Blackwell broke the deadlock after 20 minutes with a well-placed shot beyond the keeper, before strike partner Stuart Indge smashed home a second from close range shortly after.
As half-time approached Van Hage increased their lead through a good penalty by thomas atkinson after a strong challenge felled Stuart in the Hornsmill area.
The Old Boy's pulled one back just before the break but it was the garden centre Gods which left the field with the 3-1 advantage.
The second period proved to be much of the same, and after 15 minutes Mr Indge secured his brace with a powerful shot from an impossible angle.
Continued good work from the Van Hage midfield then set-up subsitute Mitchell Brassett who cooly converted the teams fifth with ease.
In search for revenge, Mitchell was later the victim of unforgivable foul-play by one 'Old Boy' prompting a mass riot to flare between the two sets of angered players.
With just seconds remaining, an astonishing through-ball played from the edge of the Van Hage box set up Phil to score his second of the match and compound a comprehensive 6-1 defeat for the disgraced opposition.
Solid performances from Darren Caslake, Tim Tissington and James Woods deserve special praise but it was the collective effort of the entire team that eventually proved decisive on this glorious day for world football.

Millstream P 0 V 5 Sun & Harrow
Tyler Hatherly 2
Wayne Wasyclesyn

Scott Brunton
It was a good week for the Harrow as their 1st team had a convincing 5 - 0 win over the Millstream and so maintained that both sides are top of their respective divisions. The scorers were Tyler Hatherly (2), Wayne Wasylylylzn, Sam Palmer and Scott Brunton.
Both teams have a lot still to do to try and win both divisisions but both teams will endeavour to try their utmost to suceed in a double, time will tell whether they are succesful.
Division 2
Sun & Harrow Res 3 v 1 The Bull
Nathan Weibel 2 Adam Mason
Gennaro Bussola
A very important game for the Harrow following their defeat the previous week. The pitch was in good condition following all the rain and the game was played in a good spirit. The Harrow showed their early dominance with numerous good chances that all went begging through either a good save by the keeper or terrible finishing. Fortunately mid way through the 1st half Nathan Weibel latched on to a through pass from Will Sadler and at last the Harrow scored which their donminance deserved. The game then continued with chances going begging until The Bull won a penalty from a clumsy challange and converted it to make the score 1 - 1 at half time. The Harrow started the second half with a volley in their ears from a none too happy manager following so many chances going begging and starting the 2nd half equal. The team must have listened because they started with more grit and determination and their early 2nd half substitute Rino Bussola scored a great goal to take the lead. The Harrow then socred a further goal through Nathan Weibel to put a more respectible score on the board.
Dane End Utd 3 v 3 Buntingford Cougars
Luke Oakman 2 Tom Andrews
Jody Sibthorpe Chris Babbage
Max Camp
This match was played at a frantic pace up and down the notorious hill at Dane End and both sides to be congratulated on a
very entertaining match. The first half was even until Tom Andrews put Cougars in the lead in the 28th minute and despite a lot of endeavour form both sides half time arrived with the visitors holding their slender lead. Within 6 minutes of the restart Luke Oakham had equalised for Dane End after being put through a static defence, they were still celebrating when Cougars went in front again this tim it was Chris Babbage who seized on a mistake by Dane End's defence, with 20 minutes remaining the home team once again drew level and once more it was that man Luke Oakman who did the damage after his shot from 20 yards took a deflection, once more they relaxed and within 5 minutes Cougars once again took the lead this time Dane End's stand in keeper made a complete hash of a clearance leaving Max Camp with the easiest of tap ins and it seemed that their resistence would finally be broken but with 8 minutes to go Jodie Sibthorpe latched onto a through ball and beat the Cougars keeper for a deserved equaliser once more and both sides had a chance to take all 3 points but in the end they both shared the spoils in what was anothet great advert for the Corinthian League.
Intermediate Cup 4th Round
Sun & Harrow 5 v 1 Wellington arms (WSOL)
Title favourites Sun & Harrow from division 1 keep the flag flying for the Corinthian League as they dished out a drubbing to a good side from the Watford Sunday Observer League. With 2 goals from Hatherley who was a menace all game with his pace and trickery and with Ryan Pasfield Green pulling all the strings from midfield saw the Sun & Harrow going in 1 nil at half time with a goal from Sam Palmer. Then after 10 minutes after half time Hatherley got his 2 goal to make it 3 -0 then Wellington Arms made it 3-1 but yet again Sun & Harrow stepped up another gear to make it 4-1 forcing an own goal from wellington Arms. Just before the full time whistle Matthew Stag made it 5-1 to progress to the last 16.
Garston United 3 v 3 Hornsmill United
This was one hell of a game with the pitch playing a major roll in this game Hornsmill beaten semi finalist last year saw themselves 2-0 down after half hour with 2 sloppy goals with the game slipping away no one told Garston that this Hornsmill united side never go down with out a fight and with 5 minutes to before half time Ricky kettridge broke into the box only to be up ended for a penalty which Danny Atkins took the bull by the horn to score from the spot then after the break with 20 minutes gone a break away from Garston saw them extend there lead to 3-1 then with 15 minutes to go Hornsmill went 3-5-2 with Atkins coming out of defence and leading from the front he made a big difference because this lad did not stop running and with 9 minutes to go a cross into the box saw the ball come back off the post and Jeremy Jones followed up the rebound to make it 3-2 then with 1 minute to go Atkins from just inside the box hit a shot straight into the top right hand corner of the net to make it 3-3 and send the game into extra time. With no score in extra time saw this go into pens.
up stepped Harry Atkins to make it 1-0 then Garston score to make it 1-1
then Rob Hogg stepped up to make it 2-1 Garston score to make it 2-2
then Ricky Kettridge made it 3-2 Garston score to make it 3-3
then young Glen Turville aged 17 hit the post yet again it looked like Hornsmill were going out but with a superb save from the Hornsmill keeper meant it still remained 3-3
then up steps Danny Atkins yet again to slot the ball home to make it 4-3 to Hornsmill Utd and with 1 penalty to come from Garston Utd the goal keeper saves yet again with a ball that looked like it was going in the bottom right hand corner only for him only for him to tip it round the post putting Hornsmill Utd through to the last 16 as well.
Junior Cup 4th Round
New Riverside 3 v 1 King Pin
Division 1
Goffs Oak 1 v 1 Bury Rangers
Division 2
White Lion 3 v 3 The Bull
This clash of these local rivals was expected to be close and so it proved to be at the end, but during the first half White Lion took the Bull by their horns and undid the offside trap with the speed of Jamie Lancaster who scored twice and when Woodward added a third before half time it looked all over White Lion having missed two other easy chances could and should have been out of sight, whatever was said at the interval by The Bull, they came guns blazing and reduced the arrears courtesy of an own goal, 10 minutes later after a scramble in the goalmouth Sinning forced the ball home, then with 18 minutes to go and constant pressure Clay received the ball some 20 yards out a found the bottom corner with the keeper unsighted to complete the fight back and level the scores.
For the remainder of the match The Bull kept pressing forward but White Lion had a couple of break a ways with Lancaster looking dangerous but fought a lone battle up front, he did have the ball in the net but referee Ron Bunce disallowed it for a foul on the keeper, despite a lot of endeavour from both sides the match ended 3 - 3.
This match in Division Two was yet another superb advert for the Corinthian League, which was played in excellent spirit and both sides should finish in the top 4/5 this season.

New Riverside 3 – 0 Van Hage F.C
A battling performance from under-strength Van Hage F.C. against title contenders New Riverside, who had also rested several players with next weeks County Cup match in mind, saw the garden centre crash out of the Divisional Shield.
As gale-force winds swept across the Cheshunt pitch and driving rain turned the turf to marshland, a determined Van Hage refused to be blown away.
Ray Tomkins was handed his first start of the season after recovering from injury and landed the first blow to Van Hage F.C with a powerful strike from outside the area on the 15 minute mark. Jack Vial did a ‘Berbatov’ by hitting the post from 9 yards, more chances were made by Tom Clarke and Jack Vial but Van Hage dug deep to prevent yet another characteristic collapse. Steve Willis came close to equalising for the visitors with a good effort from 18-yards just before the break, but it was New Riverside that doubled their lead with Tom Clarke playing the ball back to Joe Vial on the edge of the box who unleashed a Strumming shot.
Within just ten minutes of the re-start, Van Hage conceded yet another with Jack Vial slotting from a tight angle. Bad decisions from the Linesman ruled out goals from Tom Clarke and Jack Vial, The game looked to be as good as over. New Riverside then took there foot of the gas which saw Van Hage begin to dominate possession for the first time in the match. Striker Philip Blackwell hit the bar with one effort and had another cleared off the line as Van Hage fought to restore some pride.

Cuffley 6 v 1 Old Highway
O.H. started spritely and had the best of the opening few minutes but Cuffley soon settled and opened the scoring when Ryan Conway latched on to a through ball and scored from 12 yards out. Cuffleys second came from a move down the right which led to a cross into O.Hs penalty box and Conway was on hand to slot home for his second. Mitchell Hewlett further increased Cuffleys lead before half time after dribbling through O.Hs midfield and curling his shot past the keepers left from the edge of the box.
O.H.came out strongly again for the second half but the Cuffley defence absorbed the pressure and that man Conway popped up again and scored his third to make it his second hat trick in as many games. Michael Ryan got Cuffleys fifth with a superbly struck 25 yarder into the top left of the O.H. net and an own goal completed Cuffleys 6 goal tally.
