                                                            SEPTEMBER 2008

Secretaries & Referees,

Hope you all have enjoyed the summer break, but it’s back to business with my first newsletter of a new season.

Since the Council meeting two clubs namely Cuffley 1st X1 and Castle Snooker have with regret informed us that they will be withdrawing from the League due to the lack of players, so Division One now only has 8 teams in, let me assure you Division One sides that you will get more fixtures later on in the season, if necessary I will run the Division One Plate again, Division Two stays at 10 teams and Division Three is also 10 teams now, as before my priority is to make sure that you are given as many game as possible.

The pre season friendlies are in full swing now, I do not think that I have seen and taken part in so many  at the beginning of the  season, perhaps a lot of you are gearing up for a good season ahead lets hope so, but like I have said many times you cannot be all winners but give it your best that’s all you can do.

Referees, I thank you for registering this season with us I hope you have a reasonably trouble free time, I would hope that all players , officials and spectators understand that its not the easiest job but we referees try our best in each game and your support as a club towards us would be appreciated, yes we do make mistakes but look at yourself now and then, I wonder how many errors in a game you make.

Now I get on to a very important point regarding fixtures, for you teams connected to Broxbourne Borough you will see that sometimes you have been put at home on an unscheduled date, I am afraid that due to so many of you being given the same dates at home i.e. 2nd and 4th Sundays it is impossible for me as fixture sec to give you all those dates, I will try to organise something with Broxbourne but if you see that you are at home on a date not normally allocated I suggest you either try Broxbourne themselves (Nichole Gillett on 01992 785555 ext 5907), converse with your opposition who might be able to help or as a last resort you should consider playing a pm kick off, our rules do in fact state that this avenue should be taken if all else fails, I will of course try to keep this down to a minimum for you guys.

Like I remarked in my address in the League Directory my advice to league Secretaries is keep on top of all correspondence to avoid accruing fines, if in doubt either call your Divisional Rep or the committee member involved, remember that result cards must be received with a Monday postmark by the following Wednesday by clubs, and to you Referees the new match result form must reach me by Thursday morning post, these are important for us that have to keep records each week, we do rely on you being helpful in this matter.

With regard to match day Assessors, they will be monitoring both Clubs and referees on the procedures laid down by this League as to the running of an East Herts Corinthian League match, and sending me their reports, they will view every club within this league and persistent offenders or Referees performances falling short on a reasonable level will be asked to respond.

It just leaves me to wish each and everyone connected to the League a enjoyable and reasonably trouble free season.

Kind Regards

Ron Bunce

Hon League Chairman

JULY 2008

Dear Secretaries,

Further to my previous communication I regretfully forgot to inform you all that some additional places have been awarded within this league and I hope that you are all in agreement with what basically I have thought to be another step in the right direction, they are as follows:
In regard for his work within this league since it formed in 1993 I would like to propose that Bob Flack is awarded the position on Honary Life Member of the league, also at our recent cup finals in May we had two representatives of the Hertfrodshire Football Association namely Mr Gary Norman and Ms Linda Ennis, I have asked if they would be Vice Presidents to which they have kindly accepted.

This will be the last newsletter for a while, please also note that I shall be on holiday from Thursday 10th July and will not available until Sunday 20th if there is anything urgent please contact the relevant committee member who should be able to assist you.

Kind Regards

Ron Bunce
Chairman
